The rope stretching had nothing to do with splits- tunaka is trying to put frank in a world where he cant feel pain- that his mind is telling him it hurts.. he wants to put his mind in a different world so he can be unstoppable ina fight. good movie

I love this movie! but something I never understood about this movie even after seeing it a thousand times, is when he gets tied to the rope (4:54)and Tunaka stretches van damn and van damns screeming like he cant do the splits but earlier in the montage at (3:34) with ease! I guess I figure the rope stretching is so he can do the splits? but he already can do it! I dont know!
