It should have happened. It hasn’t happened. It’ll eventually happen.
The rematch between UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen is fait accompli in the eyes of many fans and pundits, and Mark Munoz knows it.
But if he has anything to say about it, Brazil’s public enemy No. 1 will never get the opportunity to travel south of the equator to fight Silva on his home turf, where a mid-2012 event is possible for his return.

TORONTO – Frank Mir may downplay the significance of Saturday’s rematch with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 140, but it’s clear he has plenty of motivation.
Mir knocked out Nogueira three years ago at UFC 92 to win an interim title.
The victory, though, has been tarnished over time, and Mir told MMAjunkie.com it’s due to an all-too-familiar reason with the Brazilian fighting legend.

BIRMINGHAM, England – British slugger Paul Daley may have
potentially removed himself from UFC president Dana White’s “pay no
mind” list, but don’t expect him to be stepping into the octagon anytime
soon.
At Saturday night’s UFC 138 post-event press conference in Birmingham,
England, UFC president Dana White didn’t necessarily uphold his “never
again” stance on the banished welterweight but did say Daley wasn’t
exactly on his radar.
And while making the comment, White also seemed to suggest that the
current Strikeforce-Showtime talks, of which he recently took charge,
are at least currently ongoing.

Neil Grove is a pretty swell guy.
The 40-year-old South African has been around the block enough times to know what to say and – perhaps more importantly – what not to say to maintain a sense of professionalism.
But on the eve of Bellator 56 and a second-chance opportunity in the season-five heavyweight tournament, the usually reverent fighter is both candid and frank.

There will be a time when the UFC featherweight champ’s kidneys say, “No way, Jose.”
A recent video documenting Jose Aldo’s weight-cut for UFC 129 is proof positive.
The 25-year-old is misery incarnate as he attempts to shed the final ounces for the 145-pound limit. At one point, he refuses to get back into a bathtub containing a chemical that aids the process but creates a burning sensation on his skin.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The fact that Reed Harris was hosting UFC on Versus 6′s pre-event press conference instead of Dana White is all the proof you need that the UFC could simultaneously host a show in Japan and Las Vegas.
Harris, the UFC’s director of community relations and the former head of the WEC, told MMAjunkie.com that the company’s multi-team approach to hosting events makes it possible.
His comments came a few days after a report in which White said the UFC is planning to host simultaneous events both in Japan and in Las Vegas.

DENVER – No official decision has been made, but UFC president Dana
White believes Matt Hughes has fought for the final
time.
Following a UFC 135 loss to Josh Koscheck, Hughes declined to share his future plans.
However, at Saturday night’s post-event press conference (which Hughes
declined to attend when given the option, according to the UFC boss),
White said he thinks the UFC Hall of Famer is likely done competing in
the octagon.
