LAS VEGAS – Carlos Condit solved one of the most challenging puzzles in MMA.
The former WEC champ implemented a remarkably effective game plan and
won the UFC’s interim welterweight title by stifling ever-active but
ultimately frustrated ex-Strikeforce titleholder Nick Diaz, who
suggested he may retire after the loss.
The fight headlined UFC 143 and aired on pay-per-view from Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center. Prelims aired on FX and streamed on Facebook.

In the latest legal salvo between Alistair Overeem and his former managers at Golden Glory, a lawyer for the MMA team today obtained a pre-judgement from a judge to garnish the fighter’s wages for his bout tonight against Brock Lesnar.
The order requires the NSAC to withhold a $241,285.49 check Overeem is slated to receive for the fight.
The bout headlines UFC 141 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

SAN DIEGO – Caros Fodor derailed Justin Wilcox’s steady ascent up Strikeforce’s lightweight ladder in devastating fashion.
Fodor needed a mere 13 seconds to stuff a takedown and blast the American Kickboxing Academy product with two quick right hands to set up a lightning quick knockout win.
It was the featured preliminary-card bout at “Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal” at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. The untelevised prelims preceded the night’s Showtime-televised main card.

But to win the tournament, the Brazilian used a super-slick submission just as Dennis Bermudez was about to pound his way to a stoppage win over him.

ANAHEIM, Calif. – While new UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos’
impressive first-round finish of Cain
Velasquez garnered the lion’s share of attention during Saturday
night’s post-UFC on FOX press conference, the Brazilian certainly wasn’t
