After hinting at his participation in the show, veteran UFC fighter Mike Swick now has an opponent for the UFC’s Jan. 22 event.
A source close to the event told MMAjunkie.com Swick has agreed to fight welterweight David Mitchell at the show. MMAWeekly.com first reported the bout.
Although not announced, the event is expected to be UFC Fight Night 23 and a second installment of a “UFC Fight for the Troops” fundraiser.

Veteran UFC welterweight Mike Swick is expected to fight at the UFC’s currently unannounced Jan. 22 event, which is likely to be dubbed “UFC Fight Night 23: UFC Fight for the Troops 2.”
Swick hinted at the booking in a recent Facebook post, and sources close to the show told MMAjunkie.com he’s been targeted for the card.
The event is likely to take place in Texas in conjunction with Fort Hood.

Although best known as UFC welterweight contender, Mike Swick is finding
his other job lucrative, as well.
On Friday Swick finished a remarkable run in the World Series of Poker
event No. 42 – a three-day no-limit hold’em tournament with a $3.4
million prize pool.
Swick made the final day of competition and finished 10th among the
event’s 2,521 competitors. The showing allowed him to turn a $1,500
buy-in into winning of $34,748.
