Former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin on Wednesday underwent
surgery to repair a torn labrum, and his camp has deemed the procedure a
“complete success.”
According to a release today issued by Franklin’s manager, J.T. Stewart,
Franklin is expected to make a complete recovery from the procedure.
“I spoke with Rich; he’s feeling great, and as soon as the doctor gives
him the go-ahead, he’s ready to start training again,” Stewart stated in
the release. “If everything goes as expected, UFC fans could see Rich
Franklin back in the octagon in late summer.”

Rich Franklin is again on the recovery trail.
The former UFC middleweight champion and current light-heavyweight veteran suffered a shoulder injury 10 days ago and will undergo “minor” surgery on Tuesday.
The fighter’s reps today confirmed the injury, which required a two- to three-month recovery, with MMAjunkie.com.

Duane “Bang” Ludwig would like the books corrected.
Although Todd Duffee is officially listed as the record-holder for the fastest knockout in UFC history, Ludwig said that’s not so, and he’s not the only one who believes the record is his.

At first glance, you see no weakness in the UFC’s Krzysztof Soszynski. With an imposing figure of chiseled muscle, he
looks like a guy who could snap you in two if duly provoked. And he
could, technically.
But looks can be deceiving. Soszynski is one of the nicer guys you could
run across in the fight business – a guy who’s truly grateful for the
opportunities he’s had and the attention bestowed upon him.
But supporting that hulking light-heavyweight frame are the knees of a
60-year-old, according to a doctor who recently performed the seventh
corrective surgery on them. Still, Soszynski looks to return to action by year’s end, and he’s staying busy in the meantime by immersing himself in the film industry.
