While Strikeforce’s “Feijao vs. Henderson” event is the crown jewel of
the promotion’s weekend plans, the California-based organization has a
full array of plans on tap for fight fans.
In conjunction with this weekend’s Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus,
Ohio, Strikeforce has a number of meet and greets, demonstrations and
seminars scheduled at the Columbus Convention Center.
Included in the lineup are Strikeforce stars Josh Barnett, Nick Diaz,
Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, Frank Shamrock and Josh Thomson, among others.

A small but vocal contingent of New Yorkers is getting out the word about MMA in the Empire State.
The Coalition to Legalize Mixed Martial Arts in New York today held a rally to educate the public on the sport and attract mainstream media to the plight of fans who want to see MMA legalized.
The rally, held on the steps of assembly speaker Sheldon Silver’s office in Lower Manhattan, drew veteran fighters Frank Shamrock and Tara LaRosa, as well as Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem.

UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock quietly was on his way to his third win in four fights until a knee injury halted the 46-year-old fighter.
Shamrock used a right cross to knock down KOTC heavyweight veteran Mike Bourke at Thursday’s “KOTC: Platinum” event in Durban, South Africa.
However, Shamrock injured his leg during a scramble and ultimately was forced to surrender the TKO in the second round of the headliner.

broadcaster is a featured guest on Thursday evening’s edition of NBC’s
“Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”
Shamrock is expected to discuss the Dec. 4 “Henderson vs. Babalu” event,
as well as his new anti-bullying organization Stand Up Together.
