The UFC’s return to Canada is now official for March 24, and a pair of heavyweights will clash on the card.
UFC officials today announced that Ben Rothwell and
Brendan Scahub have verbally agreed to meet at UFC
145, which takes place in Montreal.
The promotion had previously declined to name a specific date for the
event, which is expected to take place at the city’s Bell Centre.

In his first fight in 15 months due to a knee injury, Ben Rothwell meets fellow heavyweight Mark Hunt at UFC 135.
Officials recently announced that verbal agreements are in place for the fight.
Although not officially announced, UFC 135 takes place Sept. 24 at Pepsi Center in Denver. The night’s main card, including a likely Jon Jones vs. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson championship headliner, airs on pay-per-view.

bathed in praise. Online, where MMA lives and breathes, they’re cut off
at the knees at a moment’s notice.
That goes double for the fighters who bring personality to the table,
the ones who don’t consult the public relations manual before they
speak, or the ones who’ve decided they’re better served as heels. Rothwell has not decided to be a heel.

UFC heavyweight Ben Rothwell sat at UFC 115′s post-fight podium and made no excuses.
He had won a unanimous decision over Gilbert Yvel on the June 12 event’s
pay-per-view card but said it was “not a victory” for the fight’s lack
of finish. He chose not to disclose that he had torn his ACL on the
first takedown of the three-round contest.
Rothwell on Tuesday underwent surgery to repair both his ACL and a torn
meniscus and hopes to be back in action by February or March of 2011.
