Although a small cross section within the army of current UFC fighters,
those reached by MMAjunkie.com supported
Carlos Condit’s controversial decision over Nick Diaz at this past
Saturday’s UFC 143.
That support ultimately boiled down what they saw was more effective aggression and a superior gameplan.
“It’s not a bar fight, dude,” said two-time lightweight challenger Gray Maynard.

LAS VEGAS – Depending on who you talk to, Carlos Condit’s
unanimous-decision win over Nick Diaz in the main event of Saturday
night’s UFC 143 event in Las Vegas was either a brilliantly designed and
perfectly executed gameplan or a mockery of mixed martial arts.
While it’s obvious, of course, which Condit believes, you can also count
UFC president Dana White among those who thinks the “Natural Born
Killer” did all the right things.
“Carlos Condit won,” White said following the evening’s post-event press
conference. “He went in there, and he fought a great fight.”

Manager Wallid Ismail would like his client Erick Silva’s loss changed to a win, or at the very least, a no-contest.
As early as next week, he could get an answer. Ismail today told MMAjunkie.com that UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Marc
Ratner has assured him a review of the Silva vs. Carlo Prater, which
took place this past Saturday at UFC 142.
“Erick didn’t lose the fight,” Ismail said. “No way he lost the fight.”

It’s almost as if it never happened.
The California State Athletic Commission today changed the result of a Nov. 12 bout between Mackens Semerzier and Robert Peralta after it was determined an inadvertent headbutt was responsible for

Semerzier’s manager, Brian Butler-Au of SuckerPunch Entertainment, first announced the change via Twitter.

UFC featherweight Robert Peralta is lukewarm on a rematch with Mackens Semerzier.
That is, he’ll do it if the UFC requests it, but he’s OK if he doesn’t have to fight Semerzier a second time.
“If that’s what the UFC is giving me, then that’s what I’ll do,” Peralta
today told MMAjunkie.com. “I’m completely fine.”

NEW ORLEANS – Prior to his UFC Fight Night 25 bout with “The Ultimate
Fighter 12″ winner Jonathan Brookins, Roufusport fighter Erik Koch made his intentions known.

Koch came up short of his goal and was forced to settle for a decision
win over Brookins on the main card of Saturday’s event at New Orleans’
Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. But the 22-year-old hasn’t budged on
who he should next fight.
