Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic replaces an injured Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and now meets Frank Mir in the headliner of next month’s UFC 119 event, according to a report from “Fighters Only.”
Although details of Nogueira’s injury were not reported, a source close to the fighter told MMAjunkie.com a recurring hip injury is to blame.
UFC 119 takes place Sept. 25 at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

While most MMA pundits wouldn’t consider Bellator Fighting Championships
and the UFC direct rivals, they soon will be – in court.
According to a report by Yahoo! Sports’ Kevin Iole, Zuffa, LLC, the
parent company of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, has filed suit in a
Nevada court against MMA Agents’ head Ken Pavia and the Bellator
organization.
At the center of the concern is alleged theft of “trade secrets and
confidential Zuffa documents,” which Zuffa contends Pavia passed along
to Bellator officials.

Welterweights Diego Sanchez and Paulo Thiago look to return to the winner’s circle when they meet at
UFC 121.
PennyJoMMA.com first reported the matchup on Tuesday evening, and
multiple outlets have since confirmed that verbal agreements are in place
and both fighters are expected to make it official shortly. It is
unknown whether the fight is a part of the event’s televised lineup.
UFC 121 takes place Oct. 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., and
features a heavyweight headliner between current champion Brock Lesnar
and challenger Cain Velasquez.
