Rich Franklin is again on the recovery trail.
The former UFC middleweight champion and current light-heavyweight veteran suffered a shoulder injury 10 days ago and will undergo “minor” surgery on Tuesday.
The fighter’s reps today confirmed the injury, which required a two- to three-month recovery, with MMAjunkie.com.

A few months ago, Mendes put off a promised title shot because he didn’t want to wait for featherweight champion Jose Aldo’s recovery.
But following a UFC 133 win over Rani Yahya, Mendes’ future appeared uncertain because of a possible broken hand.

Yuri Villefort has a lot he wants to share. One of the welterweight division’s top prospects, Villefort was supposed to make his Strikeforce debut alongside his older brother Danillo at Strikeforce Challengers 16 on June 24. However, injuries forced both brothers off of the event and forced the younger Villefort onto an operating table to repair his damaged left knee.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has retreated to the relative solitude of his farm in Canada to recover from a second bout of diverticulitis.
Although he’s shirked all communication with everyone other than those closest to him, the move has gone well, according to UFC president Dana White.
From the sound of it, Lesnar is on track to beat the intestinal disease a second time.
