World Victory Road’s latest offering is in the books, the organization’s first welterweight title fight is set, and four competitors advanced past the quarterfinal round of the the season-long Asian bantamweight grand prix.
Today’s Sengoku Raiden Championship 15 event, though, also featured a scoring flub in the main event.
Despite appearing to earn a clear-cut win over Japanese fighter Hiroshi Izumi, headliner and British light heavyweight instead was tagged with a baffling split-decision loss.

All 20 fighters competing at this weekend’s Sengoku Raiden Championship
15 event hit the scales in anticipation of the show, and all but
one-time UFC veteran Brian Cobb made weight without issue.
The weigh-ins took place today in Tokyo, Japan. The city’s Ryogoku
Kokugikan hosts tomorrow’s show, which airs live in North America on
HDNet on Saturday morning at 2 a.m. ET.
Cobb did not take part in the usual pre-fight press conference as he
looked, unsuccessfully, to shed the six-plus pounds he was in excess of his
contracted weight.

World Victory Road today announced the finalized lineup for Sengoku
Raiden Championship 15, which takes place Oct. 30 at Ryogoku Kokugikan
in Tokyo.
The event features the semifinal round of Japanese-based organization’s
welterweight grand prix and the quarterfinal round of the 20-man Asian
bantamweight tournament.
There’s one big last-minute change for the event, which airs live on
HDNet on Saturday morning at 2 a.m. ET (Friday night at 11 p.m. PT).

He takes on Doo Ho Choi, officials today announced.

Officials today announced a light-heavyweight bout between light heavyweights Kazuo “Yoshiki” Takahashi and Chang Seob Lee, as well as a lightweight bout of Kazunori Yokota vs. UFC vet Brian Cobb.
