NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Perhaps Christian Morecraft is coming out of his shell, or maybe he’s just been with the UFC long enough now to know what his bosses and fans want.
A well-rounded big man with proven power, Morecraft’s next test comes Friday in a UFC on FX 1 main-card bout with fellow heavyweight Pat Barry.
Both are coming off losses, and a victory is probably mandatory for job security. Just don’t expect Morecraft to change the way he handles his business.

Starting in 2012, UFC parent company Zuffa and Showtime Networks are
wiping the slate virtually clean and rebranding a promotion that was
until recently thought to be dying.
The companies today announced a new broadcast partnership they hope will
not only revive Strikeforce in the coming year but bring it to parity
with the UFC as the industry-leader continues to beef up its 2012
schedule.
“This thing is dialed in perfectly now for success,” UFC president Dana
White told MMAjunkie.com. “When we had the
Challengers series and all these other fights that had to be done, the
thing was set up to fail.”

Justin McCully is coming back to the cage after more than two years on the sidelines, and he’s excited to see what he’s been missing since he lost a decision to Mike Russow at UFC 102 and took a step back from the sport.
At the same time, he’s not making any lofty predictions about a big comeback when he fights Justin Grizzard at Resurrection Fighting Alliance.
It’s really just something to do for fun.

As it turns out, “The Thrashing Machine” might of just needed a little oil change.
Eight months after Tim Hague was released from the UFC for a
second time, the Canadian heavyweight says he’s undergone a total
overhaul and is looking to make his way back into the octagon.
Personal problems have been dealt with and training reinvigorated. Hague
embarks on a journey at Friday night’s Aggression MMA VIII event that
he says should take five fights and less than a year to earn his spot
back in the world’s biggest MMA promotion.
