An undisclosed injury has forced welterweight Paulo Thiago to withdraw from a bout with Johny Hendricks at UFC on Versus 3.

A source close to the event told MMAjunkie.com that Hendricks may get another opponent or be shifted to another card. Hendricks’ camp, Team Takedown, also confirmed the news via Twitter.

UFC on Versus 3 takes place March 3 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky., and its main card airs on Versus.

ROSEMEAD, Calif. – Martin Kampmann is not offended by the intense spotlight on former Strikeforce middleweight champion and UFC newcomer Jake Shields.

The way he sees it, if the UFC picked him to showcase Shields’ skills, they picked the wrong guy.

“They should have picked somebody else because I’m nobody’s showcase,” Kampmann said of their UFC 121 co-main-event fight. “I’m nobody’s stepping stone. I’m here to achieve my goals, and that is to get as far as possible in the UFC.”

Welterweights Diego Sanchez and Paulo Thiago look to return to the winner’s circle when they meet at
UFC 121.

PennyJoMMA.com first reported the matchup on Tuesday evening, and
multiple outlets have since confirmed that verbal agreements are in place
and both fighters are expected to make it official shortly. It is
unknown whether the fight is a part of the event’s televised lineup.

UFC 121 takes place Oct. 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., and
features a heavyweight headliner between current champion Brock Lesnar
and challenger Cain Velasquez.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – UFC welterweight and self-described
adrenaline junkie Paulo Thiago says it’s much easier
than you’d think to be a fighter and a special forces police officer.

“[My] commanders do the best they can,” Thiago, who faces Martin
Kampmann at UFC 115 on Saturday, told MMAjunkie.com on Wednesday. “Whether I win or lose, I always have the best support.”

But as far as he goes in MMA, there’s one thing he won’t give up, and
