Strikeforce on Monday finally made official the conclusion of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix . It will take place May 19 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. MMAWeekly.com has already reported the main event showdown between Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier, the co-main event with Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez defending his title against Josh Thomson, and a light heavyweight feature bout pitting former champion Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante vs.

As expected, two long-awaited rematches will co-headline the UFC’s return to Brazil.
Officials today announced that UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will rematch Chael Sonnen, and “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil” coaches Wanderlei Silva and Vitor Belfort also will meet again at UFC 147.
UFC 147 takes place June 23 at Joao Havelange Stadium in Rio de Janiero. It’s expected to set a new UFC record attendance.

A middleweight matchup between New Jersey native Nick Catone and Chris Camozzi is official for this
summer’s UFC on FX 4 event.
UFC executives recently announced that verbal agreements are in place for the matchup.
UFC on FX 4 takes place June 22 in Atlantic City, N.J., likely at the
new Revel Atlantic City resort, with a Clay Guida vs. Gray Maynard
headliner.

A previously reported lightweight contest between Tony Ferguson and Thiago Tavares is now
officials, and May’s UFC on FOX 3 event is again complete with 12 bouts.
Tavares replaced an injured Dennis Hallman in the preliminary matchup.
Featuring a lightweight bout between Nate Diaz and Jim Miller, “UFC on
FOX 3: Diaz vs. Miller” takes place May 5 at IZOD Center in East

As expected, the event features a five-fight pay-per-view main card
headlined by Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans in addition to a four-fight “UFC
Prelims” special that airs on FX.
The FX broadcast features Michael McDonald vs. Miguel Torres, Travis
Browne vs. Chad Griggs, Matt Brown vs. Stephen Thompson and John
Makdessi vs. Anthony Njokuani.

The six-bout main card for the UFC’s sophomore effort on FUEL TV is now set.
Featuring a retooled main event of Alexander Gustafsson vs. Thiago
Silva, “UFC on FUEL TV 2: Gustafsson vs. Silva” takes place April 14 at
Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm.
The event serves as the UFC’s first-ever visit to Sweden. The night’s
main card airs live in the U.S. on FUEL TV, and prelims are expected to
stream on Facebook. However, UFC executives have yet to officially
announce those plans.

weigh-ins, where headliners Thiago Alves and Martin Kampmann look to
make their welterweight contest official.
Additionally, Joseph Benavidez, Yasuhiro Urushitani, Demetrious Johnson
and Ian McCall each hit the scales in advance of their flyweight tourney
opening-round matchups.
Today’s weigh-ins take place at Sydney’s Allphones Arena. The first
fighters hit the scale at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT (2 p.m. Friday AEDT local
time).

SAITAMA, Japan – MMAjunkie.com was on scene and reporting live from tonight’s official UFC 144 fighter
weigh-ins, where headliners Frankie Edgar and Benson Henderson made
their championship matchup official.
However, co-headliner Quinton “Rampage” Jackson found things a little
more difficult and registered 211 pounds for his light heavyweight
matchup with Ryan Bader.
Jackson was fined 20 percent of his purse, but the bout will go on as planned.
