Another week of fights, another controversial decision.
While this holiday week’s MMA schedule was relatively tame in comparison
to the rest of an extremely busy month, Bellator Fighting Championships
did on Saturday night host its final season-five event, Marcin Held was
awarded a hotly contested split-decision win on the evening’s main
card.
Our readers focused on a number of topics in this week’s edition of The
Sunday Junkie. But the winner of our weekly reader-feedback feature,
Maryland’s Bruce Hales, contends there should be no question as to why
Held was given the win.

Nov. 19, 2011, could be remembered as the greatest night in MMA history
following a UFC 139 barnburner between Dan Henderson and Mauricio
“Shogun” Rua, as well as Bellator 58′s showstopper between Michael
Chandler and Eddie Alvarez.

Weigh-ins for this month’s “UFC 139: Shogun vs. Henderson” event take place Friday, Nov. 18, at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.
The same venue hosts the following night’s pay-per-view event, which
features a five-round light heavyweight contest between former UFC and
PRIDE champions Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Dan Henderson.
Additionally, perennial welterweight contender Josh Koscheck hosts a
special Q&A session for UFC Fight Club members prior to the
weigh-ins.

FOX will use its many assets for an ambitious day of programming geared around next week’s “UFC on FOX 1: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos” event.
The Nov. 12 event takes place at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., with a championship main event between heavyweight titleholder Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos.
FOX-owned FUEL TV, FOX Deportes and FOX Sports Radio also plan event-related programming.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is heading outdoors – well, for weigh-ins at least.
The official weigh-in ceremony for next week’s historic UFC on FOX 1
event will take place at California’s iconic Santa Monica Pier.
The ceremony, which sees UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and top
contender Junior Dos Santos lead a contingent of 20 fighters to the
scale, begins at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT local time). The festivities are
free and open to the public.
