TORONTO – Former UFC champions and MMA legends Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
and Tito Ortiz may have reached the end of
the line.

Nogueira and Ortiz were each transferred to a Toronto-area hospital
following losses to Frank Mir and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira,
respectively, on the main card of Saturday night’s UFC 140 event, and
UFC president Dana White admitted each of them may have fought for the
final time in the octagon.

Following the evening’s post-event press conference, White said he would have to talk with each fighter
individually, but he wasn’t willing to guarantee a UFC return for either
athlete.

It’s a good week to be Brazilian.

With the UFC gaining rapid steam in the country and the promotion set
for a January return to the South American nation, Brazilian fighters
also scored big in the company’s first-ever Twitter bonus awards.

UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva, former interim heavyweight champ
Antonio Rodrgio Nogueira and middleweight contender Demian Maia each
pocketed $10,000 for winning bonuses in two different categories.

LAS VEGAS – Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir will be facing Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira for a
second time when the pair meets at December’s UFC 140 event.

And this time, Mir wants Nogueira at 100 percent.

After Mir dispatched of “Minotauro” in December 2008, post-fight
discussion centered around a severe case of staph that left Nogueira far
from his best in the second-round TKO. Mir doesn’t want to hear that
talk a second time around.

A light-heavyweight bout between former champ Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira is slated for UFC 140.

UFC officials announced that verbal agreements are in place for the fight, which initially was slated to take place back in March.

UFC 140 takes place Dec. 10 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
