UFC on FUEL TV 2 adds Gustafsson vs. Nogueira, Pickett vs. Page in Sweden

The UFC’s first event in Sweden will feature a local in the night’s headliner.

UFC officials today announced that fast-rising light-heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson will meet veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in April’s UFC on FUEL TV 2 headliner.

Additionally, Brad Pickett will meet fellow bantamweight Damacio Page on the card.

The field is taking shape for Bellator’s newly organized season-six bantamweight tournament.

Although the 135-pound tournament is the fifth and final addition to the early-2012 calendar, some notable names have been booked for it.

Officials told MMAjunkie.com that Marcos Galvao, Luis Nogueira, Rodrigo Lima and Ed West are all slotted for the eight-man field.

UFC 140 medical suspensions: Nogueira, Ortiz receive 60-day orders

Seven fighters – including main-card competitors Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Tito Ortiz and Mark Hominick – received 60-day medical suspensions following Saturday’s UFC 140 event.

MMAjunkie.com today obtained the list of suspensions from the Ontario Ministry of Consumer Services.

All fighters from the Dec. 10 card received suspensions of at least 14 days.

Following hospital visits, UFC futures of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Tito Ortiz uncertain

TORONTO – Former UFC champions and MMA legends Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
and Tito Ortiz may have reached the end of
the line.

Nogueira and Ortiz were each transferred to a Toronto-area hospital
following losses to Frank Mir and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira,
respectively, on the main card of Saturday night’s UFC 140 event, and
UFC president Dana White admitted each of them may have fought for the
final time in the octagon.

Following the evening’s post-event press conference, White said he would have to talk with each fighter
individually, but he wasn’t willing to guarantee a UFC return for either
athlete.
