champ Nick Diaz and former WEC titleholder Carlos
Condit meet with the UFC’s interim welterweight
title on the line.
In anticipation of the pay-per-view event, UFC officials recently
announced that fans are invited to both a UFC 143 open workout session
and pre-event press conference.
Both events can be attended free of charge.

Fedor Emelianenko’s next fight could be in a very sunny place.
M-1 Global Director of Operations Evgeni Kogan today told MMAjunkie.com
(www.mmajunkie.com) that Monaco – a city-state surrounded by France and
Italy – is targeted to host the Russian heavyweight’s next fight, likely
in July.
Although Bobby Lashley has been discussed as a possible opponent,
the promotion is leaning toward “a European fighter” to meet Emelianenko.

And while “The Hulk” is comfortable chalking up his motivational rage to
a clear case of Napoleon complex, the 5-foot-6 scrapper doesn’t let it
control him at all times.
Take for instance, his rivalry with Jared Papazian, which resulted in what

The UFC returns to network television this month, and fans are invited
to attend next week’s UFC on FOX 2 pre-event open workout sessions in Chicago.
UFC officials recently announced the pre-fight activity will take place Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Chicago Boxing Club.
UFC on FOX 2 headliners Rashad Evans and Phil Davis, as well as Michael
Bisping, Chael Sonnen, Demian Maia, Chris Weidman, Mike Russow and
John-Olav Einemo all appear during the session, which begins at 1 p.m.
ET (12 p.m. CT local time) and are free and open to the public.

It hadn’t quite sunk in for Kenny Florian that he had been hired for a
color-commentating role on the UFC’s second broadcasting team.
Contractually speaking, that is.
“I haven’t signed anything that that’s going to happen yet,” he told
MMAjunkie.com shortly after UFC officials confirmed
his new job.
It also hasn’t sunk in yet that Florian may not ever fight again. Medically speaking, that is.

A long-rumored UFC event in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo is a reality.
UFC president Dana White told MMAjunkie.com on Friday the promotion is currently searching for venues to host the event, which is targeted for an as-yet-undetermined date in June.
“It looks like it’s probably going to be a stadium show,” he said.

The 11-bout lineup for the UFC’s debut on FX is now official.
The participants in this month’s “UFC on FX 1: Guillard vs. Miller” event have been set for a few weeks, but the official bout order for the evening was recently revealed by the promotion.
UFC on FX 1 takes place Jan. 20 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The night’s main event features Melvin Guillard against Jim Miller in a key lightweight contest.

Middleweight champ Luke Rockhold is in a cast for a month after suffering a broken right hand this past Saturday at “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine.”
He then moves on to rehab, where he anticipates he’ll be able to punch things in a few weeks.
“I imagine I’m looking at eight weeks before I’m back in the gym,” Rockhold today told MMAjunkie.com.
