But little information can be gleaned from a 2003 grappling match between Roy Nelson and Frank Mir that would lead to any logical predictions for their UFC 130 co-headliner on Saturday.

Besides, “We’re doing MMA now, and I’m a bigger and a fatter guy now,” Nelson recently told MMAjunkie.com ahead of Saturday’s pay-per-view event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Nevada State Athletic Commission officials who oversaw Saturday’s Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort headliner at UFC 126 did not see any behavior that suggested foul play.

Silva set some forums abuzz when he wiped his forehead with his hand just prior to the fight and then briefly wiped his chest.

It was easy fodder for conspiracy theorists who thought the champion might be trying to give himself an unfair edge by using Vaseline from his face to make his body slicker. But the NSAC head said that’s not the case.

from that fateful day, the 25-year-old now has another title for life:
“The Ultimate Fighter 12″ winner.

Of course, despite a come-from-behind performance that will forever lay
witness to his durability and drive, Brookins isn’t taking too much
credit for his efforts at Saturday’s The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale
event.

And a Friday appearance at a UFC Fight Club Q&A session at GM Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, gave him free reign to trash the champion – with often hilarious results.

But Sonnen, a man whose political aspirations have prompted him to run for the Oregon Legislative Assembly, risked an unpopular stance when he cast a stone at the Olympic aspirations of a Canadian hero, UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
