In a few weeks, the Nevada State Athletic Commission is opening the floor to ideas on how to better regulate MMA.
The commission today gave notice of a workshop designed to “to solicit
comments from interested persons on any matter related to contests or
exhibitions of unarmed combat, or any other matter within the
jurisdiction of the NSAC.”
“Which is pretty much a glorified public comment session, where anyone
and everyone who wants to put ideas out there for the commission to
consider, we definitely welcome that,” NSAC executive director Keith
Kizer today told MMAjunkie.com.

HOUSTON – Undersized UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar has proven over and over that he’s more than capable of fighting (and winning)
at 155 pounds.
That said, UFC president Dana White would still like to see him make the
move to featherweight, especially for a bout against 145-pound kingpin
Jose Aldo.
“Honestly, I’d like to see [Edgar] move to 145 and fight Aldo,” White
said following Saturday night’s UFC 136 post-event press conference at
Houston’s Toyota Center.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – It’s unclear what lies next for Roy Nelson.
An unhappy UFC president Dana White said he would meet with the
heavyweight to discuss his future following back-to-back losses, the
latter of which he called “embarrassing.” It certainly didn’t look good
for the winner of “The Ultimate Fighter 10.”
White today told MMAjunkie.com that the meeting took
place, and while it was positive, he doesn’t know what’s in store for
Nelson.

When judges plunk down cageside to score the fights at UFC 131, they’ll have more than just their eyes and ears to do the job.
According to UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner, the Vancouver Athletic Commission on Tuesday approved the use of cageside monitors for the June 11 event.
“It’s just another tool for the judges,” Ratner today told MMAjunkie.com.
