CHICAGO – MMAjunkie.com was on scene and reporting live from today’s UFC on FOX 2 official
fighter weigh-ins, where all 20 event competitors successfully made
weight for Saturday’s event.
Today’s festivities took place at The Chicago Theatre, and a vocal crowd
made their presence known as event headliners Rashad Evans (205) and
Phil Davis (205) hit the scale.
Co-headliners Michael Bisping (185) and Chael Sonnen (185) also received
vocal welcomes before standing forehead-to-forehead and engaging in a
little last-minute trashtalk.

So Mark Hominick won’t be on Canadian soil for his next fight.
With UFC 145 now set to take place April 21 at Atlanta’s Philips Arena,
the onetime featherweight challenger’s bout with Eddie Yagin has been booked for the event, officials announced today.
Hominick and Yagin were originally slated to fight on March 24 at Bell
Centre in Montreal, where Hominick had twice fought under the UFC banner
to disappointing results.

The dance card is rapidly filling for the UFC’s first Canadian jaunt this year.
The promotion today announced that lightweights Matt Wiman and Mark Bocek have agreed to square off at UFC 145, which takes place March 24 at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.
It’s not yet known whether Wiman vs. Bocek is set for the pay-per-view main-card or the preliminary card, which is expected to air on FX.

TORONTO – Mark Hominick’s emotional homecoming – his first since the passing of his longtime trainer and friend Shawn Tompkins – ended in disaster.
Noticeably amped off the energy of a boisterous pro-Hominick crowd, the Canadian ate a quick right hand from Chan Sung Jung, who posted a stunning TKO stoppage in a mere seven seconds.
The featherweight fight took place at UFC 140 at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. It kicked off the night’s pay-per-view main card following prelims on Facebook and ION Television.

TORONTO – Nik Lentz is undefeated in the UFC no longer.
The scrappy lightweight suffered his first official UFC loss by dropping a unanimous decision to jiu-jitsu ace and fellow lightweight Mark Bocek.
The fight took place at UFC 140 at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. It streamed on Facebook prior to additional prelims on ION Television and a main card on pay-per-view.

TORONTO – UFC lightweight Mark Bocek (9-4 MMA, 5-4 UFC) spent 15 minutes
in the cage with current No. 1 contender Ben Henderson and knew
something had to change.
Fighting in front of the largest crowd in North American MMA history at
this past April’s UFC 129 event, Bocek knew he had been defeated, and it
was a feeling he didn’t like.
So Bocek promptly relocated his camp to Montreal’s famed Tristar Gym and
reinvented himself. Wipe the slate clean, says Bocek. The real work
starts Saturday night.
