SAITAMA, Japan – It can pay – literally and figuratively – to have the boss on your side.
Despite a loss to Chris Cariaso at Saturday’s UFC 144 event, Takeya Mizugaki has been awarded his win bonus for the performance.
UFC president Dana White, who felt Mizugaki won the fight, confirmed the additional payment at UFC 144′s post-event press conference.

SAITAMA, Japan – Steve Cantwell’s fifth attempt at a second UFC victory ended like the previous four: in disappointment.

And it’s not just for show, Okami said. Following his UFC 134 loss to
middleweight champ Silva, “Thunder” believes he’s a completely new man.

After a loss to Ronny Markes on Wednesday at UFC on FUEL TV 1, Simpson said he’s tired of being undersized at middleweight.
“I’ve been thinking about it over the last year and a half,” the 37-year-old today told MMAjunkie.com. “Everybody I fight is cutting from 220 (pounds).”

Chad Mendes is a winner, and he’s not used to feeling like this.
He hadn’t lost at anything since Ohio State University’s J. Jaggers outwrestled him in the 141-pound NCAA championship match when he was a senior at Cal Poly.
That was 2008. The calendar says 2012.
It made his UFC 142 featherweight title loss to Jose Aldo sting that much more. But let’s not pretend the Team Alpha Male product should throw in the towel at the age of 26.
