After four consecutive wins in the octagon, UFC lightweight Nik Lentz has hit the skids.
But he also believes he’s turned a corner in delivering the kind of performances fans want to see, and despite dropping back-to-back fights, he’ll live to fight another day in the UFC.

CHICAGO – Admittedly, moral victories still bloody suck.
But for UFC on FOX 2 co-headliner Michael Bisping, who suffered a close unanimous-decision loss to No. 1 contender Chael Sonnen on Saturday at Chicago’s United Center, the Brit sees the silver lining.
Despite the defeat, Bisping has plenty of reasons to be pleased with his performance.

Erick Silva’s controversial disqualification loss to fellow Brazilian welterweight Carlo Prater at UFC 142 won’t be overturned.
UFC Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner today issued a statement regarding the fight.
In it, he stated the referee’s verbal warning and his determination that the blows were intentional leave him unable to overturn the decision.

Jim Miller kept secret the fact that he was suffering from mono and had developed a kidney infection cutting weight to fight Ben Henderson five months ago.
Still, he blames himself for not fighting better.
“I’ve never felt like that and hope to never feel like that again, inside or outside the octagon,” Miller told MMAjunkie.com Radio.

RIO DE JANEIRO – Anthony Johnson’s third weighcutting mistake will be his last in the UFC, at least for now.
Following Saturday night’s UFC 142 event at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, UFC president Dana White terminated Johnson’s contract.
“This is his third time,” White said of Johnson’s failure to make weight
for the third time in his octagon career. “Three strikes and you’re gone.”

Strikeforce light heavyweight Trevor Smith likes to dive for leg locks when he’s in trouble on the feet, and he said he told referee Kim Winslow as much prior to a weekend bout.
“I said if I get hit, I like to dive for legs and go under, so just make sure you don’t stop the fight unless I’m out cold and taking a number of blows,” Smith today told MMAjunkie.com.
“She made some kind of comment like, ‘I’ve been doing this for a while – I know how to stop fights.’”
