The UFC’s first Canadian event of 2012 is likely to come on July 21 in Calgary.
MMAjunkie.com today confirmed the tentative plans with multiple event sources following an initial report from Joe Ferraro of Sportsnet’s “UFC Central.”
Although not official, the event is expected to take place at the 19,000-seat Scotiabank Saddledome, home of the NHL’s Calgary Flames.

OMAHA, Neb. – Wednesday’s UFC on FUEL TV 1 event delivered in many ways with great fights, a raucous crowd and a thrilling headliner.
TV viewers also got a treat that earned lots of praise: the implementation of live in-fight statistics during each bout.
Such stats likely will be part of future broadcasts, according to UFC president Dana White, who recently told MMAjunkie.com that constant tweaks are being made to the UFC-FOX broadcasts.

RIO DE JANEIRO – FUEL TV’s airing of the first international edition of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series shouldn’t have much of a delay.
Following Saturday’s UFC 142 event, UFC president Dana White told MMAjunkie.com that “TUF: Brazil” likely will air on FUEL TV in the U.S. on the same day it debuts on Globo in Brazil.
The show is expected to begin filming in the next few weeks with a TV debut in March.

If Chael Sonnen gets by Mark Munoz later this month at UFC on FOX 2, his next bout could be a huge one.
UFC president Dana White recently joined “UFC Tonight” on FUEL TV to discuss potential plans for a long-awaited rematch.
In the segment, which ultimately didn’t make it to air, White said that if Sonnen gets his rematch with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, it’ll likely take place in Silva’s home country of Brazil – in a soccer stadium.

Ten months after it began, the end of the Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix is in sight.
Multiple sources close to the event told MMAjunkie.com that eight-man tournament’s finals are expected to
head to Columbus, Ohio’s Arnold Sports Festival 2012. The festival has
previously hosted several UFC and
WEC events.
That means March 3 is likely to see a heavyweight bout between Josh
Barnett and Daniel Cormier that
will determine the promotion’s tournament champion.

Bellator Fighting Championships’ international-recruiting efforts recently netted another top prospect.
Russian middleweight and light heavyweight Vyacheslav Vasilevsky signed a multi-fight deal with Bellator this past month.

It appears as though Bellator women’s 115-pound champ Zoila Gurgel won’t have to suffer as much when she returns to the cage.
Following this past Saturday’s Bellator 59 event, CEO Bjorn Rebney indicated that his promotion is unlikely to groom a challenger to Gurgel’s title for next year.
“My expectation is that Zoila will be back, and she’ll be in the mix with some of the best ladies in the world that fight under our banner, but I think it will happen at a weight class probably closer to [125 pounds],” Rebney told MMAjunkie.com.

The Japanese-based DREAM organization and the upstart ONE Fighting Championship promotion today announced a partnership.
As part of the deal, the organizations will co-promote events and have agreed to exchange fighters for their respective shows.
The deal goes into affect immediately, and the first co-promoted show is tentatively slated for March 31.
