The UFC announced today that following UFC 138, which took place in Birmingham, England, Chris Leben has been suspended for one year for a positive drug test. He tested positive for the pain killers Oxycodone and Oxymorphone.<Br><Br>
Leben lost to Mark Munoz in what was the first ever five round non-title UFC main event fight. After two rounds of action, Munoz was awarded the win via a corner stoppage.<Br><Br>
This is not the first time Leben has run into problems with substance abuse, he has been suspended in the past for using PED's and has been arrested for DUI as well. UFC President Dana White offered his support to Leben, who has been win the company since the first season of The Ultimate Fighter:<Br><Br>
“I like Chris and I want him to do well, but based on his actions, he's been suspended for one year,” UFC President Dana White said. “If he needs professional help, we are going to be there for him. We want to see him succeed not only in the Octagon, but in his personal life.”<Br><Br>

The UFC has suspended Chris Leben for one year due to a failed drug test.
The veteran middleweight tested positive for the prescription painkillers oxycodone and oxymorphone following his UFC 138 main-event loss to Mark Munuz earlier this month.
UFC officials, who oversaw regulation for the overseas event, today announced the suspension.

Today’s festivities took place at Community Hall in National Indoor
Arena in Birmingham, England. Headliners Mark Munoz and Chris Leben were
among the 20 fighters hitting the scale.
All fighters initially made weight with the exception of main-card
fighter Thiago Alves, a fighter who’s missed weight twice in the past.
Today, he came in a pound heavy on his first attempt but eventually made
weight.

BIRMINGHAM, England – Don’t look now, but UFC middleweight slugger Chris
Leben is currently in the middle of his best
octagon run since 2006.
At the 31 years old, “The Crippler” has turned back some of his inner
demons and is focused on developing into a complete mixed martial
artist. The efforts have paid dividends in the form of four wins in his
past five outings.
At Saturday’s UFC 138 event, Leben fights for the
19th time under the UFC banner and says he’s only focused on
interesting fights for his time left in the game. And the man he
finds perhaps most interesting of all? UFC middleweight champ Anderson
Silva.
