Dana White confirmed that both UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva and his nemesis Chael Sonnen
have verbally agreed to meet in Brazil on an as-yet-undetermined date
in June.
Silva was in Las Vegas for Saturday’s fight card, and White said an agreement was reached during the event.

Junior Dos Santos doesn’t need that much time to be ready for “The Reem.”
The UFC heavyweight champion today called into MMAjunkie.com Radio, where he assured fans that a recent knee injury won’t keep him out of action for long.
“In another 20 days, I’ll be feeling 100 percent again,” Dos Santos said. “Then I need two-and-a-half (months) to do my camp, and then I’m ready to do.”

Former Strikeforce heavyweight Brett Rogers claims he is innocent
of all charges stemming from a June 28 arrest in Apple Valley, Minn.
Rogers’ legal counsel today released a statement professing the fighter’s
belief he is not guilty of the three felonies and one gross misdemeanor
filed against him following an alleged altercation with his wife.
“As in all criminal matters, Mr. Rogers is presumed innocent until and
if he is proven guilty,” the statement from Mohammad &
Jaafar-Mohammad, LLC read. “Mr. Rogers asserts his innocence in this
matter and is confident that the facts of what happened will vindicate
his assertion of innocence.”

The smaller guys take center stage this summer with UFC 132, which
features a bantamweight title fight between champion Dominick Cruz and
rival Urijah Faber.
As a reminder, in anticipation of the show, Spike TV debuts “Countdown to UFC 132″ on June 29 at 1:12 p.m. ET/PT.
UFC 132 takes place July 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The night’s main card airs on pay-per-view, and as MMAjunkie.com recently reported, the event also will feature a two-fight “UFC Prelims” special on Spike TV.

Fewer than 24 hours after Nate Marquardt was scratched from Sunday’s UFC
on Versus 4 event and subsequently released from the UFC, the fate of
“The Great” was the big focus from the MMA landscape.
And while this weekend hosted no fewer than three nationally televised
MMA events, the vast majority of entries to this week’s edition of The
Sunday Junkie, our weekly reader-feedback feature, focused on Marquardt.
However, our winning entry came from Kobi “The Hulk” Rozental, who
believes the biggest loser in this situation is not Marquardt.

Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett were the big winners at Saturday’s “Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum” event, but few competitors from the card were spared criticism.
Most of the complaints, though, were directed at Overeem and fellow headliner Fabricio Werdum, as well as their once-anticipated main event that ultimately ended with a thud.
But in The Sunday Junkie, our weekly reader-feedback feature, our winning entry came from “Handsome” Matt Dumke, who believes the opening-round matchmaking is just as much at fault as the fighters themselves.

Weigh-ins for this month’s “UFC on Versus 4: Marquardt vs. Story” event
take place Saturday, June 25, at the Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center.
The same venue hosts the following night’s Versus-broadcast fight card,
which features a headliner between former middleweight Nate Marquardt
and fast-rising welterweight prospect Rick Story.
Doors to the festivities open to members of the UFC Fight Club, the
promotion’s official fan club, at 1 p.m. ET. The public is welcome to
enter at 1:30 p.m. ET.

But the winner of this week’s reader-feedback feature is Georgia’s Emmett Cloud, who instead focused on a positive.
In this week’s winning entry, he explains why Stout should be lauded not only for a stellar performance, but also a classy decision he made right after landing a punch that ultimately earned him a “Knockout of the Night” award.
