Three-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Rene Nazare moved to the U.S. with one goal in mind: to find success in mixed
martial arts.
After racking up 10-straight wins to open his career, it looked like “The Brazilian Bomber” was well on his way.
However, Nazare stumbled against Jacob Kirwan in an October 2011
matchup. Despite the setback, Nazare earned a spot in Bellator’s
season-six lightweight tournament, and he thinks the recent failure has
given him a proper understanding of what it takes to earn the
promotion’s 155-pound title.

A welterweight bout between Mike Pierce and Carlos Eduardo Rocha is the first planned addition to the currently unannounced UFC on FX 3 card.
MMAjunkie.com today confirmed with event sources that the show is expected to take place June 8.
While the main card would air on FX, officials haven’t finalized a venue for UFC on FX 3, sources said.

While the two-and-half-hour debut episode of “The Ultimate Fighter:
Live” garnered mixed reviews from MMA observers, the special episode
did prove historical by offering live elimination fights for the first
time in 15 editions of the series.
The excitement created by the new format was evident on Twitter, as
fans took to the social-media platform to
offer their feedback on the combatants.
“TUF: Live” coaches Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber each admitted they
received tons of suggestions on who they should pick up for their
respective teams, but each said they approached the selection a little
different.

All but one of the fighters competing at Friday’s Bellator 61 event today made weight on their first attempt at the event’s official weigh-ins.
Today’s festivities took place at the Orleans Room at Horseshoe Riverdome in Bossier City, La.
The same venue hosts Friday’s event, which includes a main card on MTV2 (and in high-definition on EPIX) with prelims streaming on on Spike.com.

Bellator heavyweight contender Thiago Santos isn’t
exactly fond of his fellow season-five tournament participant Eric
Prindle.
Forever linked together by an odd Bellator 59 matchup in which Santos
kicked a downed Prindle in the groin, leading to a no-contest result,
“Big Monster” has a theory on why that fight ended prematurely.
“He wanted out of the fight,” Santos told MMAjunkie.com. “I believe that kick
wasn’t that hard since we wear protection. Actually, I take that back.
It didn’t even hit him in the testicles.”

SYDNEY – Aaron Rosa was no match for Australian light heavyweight James Te Huna.
Te Huna displayed a violent striking display that carried him to a bloody and dominant first-round TKO victory over his Texan opponent.
The preliminary-card bout was part of tonight’s UFC on FX 2 event at Sydney’s Allphones Arena. It aired on FUEL TV prior to the night’s FX-televised main card.
