Five-time UFC veteran Jorge Santiago meets Nova Uniao product
Leonardo Pecanha in the main event of next month’s Titan Fighting
Championship 21 event.
The event marks Santiago’s first action since his October release from the UFC.
“I train with the best coaches and some
of the best fighters in the world,” Santiago
stated in an official release. “I’ve never felt better or more ready,
and at Titan Fighting 21, I’m going to make a fight nobody will forget -
especially Leonardo Pecanha.”

The Texas-based Legacy Fighting Championships has signed fast-rising prospect Lucas Pimenta for its upcoming HDNet-televised events.
Legacy promoter Mick Maynard today confirmed the signing with MMAjunkie.com.
Pimenta, a Brazilian welterweight and onetime Bellator fighter, sports an undefeated 5-0 record. He’s expected to debut in May.

From now on, Michael Johnson is taking a new approach to fighting.
“I had good footwork because I was a running back,” the lightweight told MMAjunkie.com Radio.
And following his win over Shane Roller on the
preliminary card of UFC on FOX 2, Johnson hopes to
charge into spring with a fight in late March or early April.

The veteran manager watched with joy as his clients each picked up wins at UFC 142.
For Edson Barboza, the night was exceedingly special, as the 26-year-old was
rewarded with two “Fight Night” honors and $130,000. Davis believes Barboza’s grounded
roots have him prepared to deal with the attention that will soon come,
but the veteran manager warns that not everyone is ready to handle what

Bellator Fighting Championships is considering a trip to Nevada.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission today revealed that the
tournament-based promotion has applied for a promoter’s license in the
state, and MMAjunkie.com has confirmed with promotion officials that the
state is under consideration for a future Bellator fight card.
“Nevada has a spectacular fighting sports history,” Bellator CEO Bjorn
Reney told MMAjunkie.com. “In the coming year, we may look to bring a
Bellator event to the great state of Nevada.”

With so much uncertainty in his native country’s MMA scene, Ikuhisa Minowa began branching off from his usual stomping grounds.
The U.S. was always an attractive option, but he was always under
contract with the biggest Japanese promotions, who relentlessly employed
him for his showmanship and willingness to fight anyone – really,
anyone.
When those promotions fell into disrepair, Minowa had talks with the UFC
to appear in the promotion’s return to Japan at UFC 144. His profile
popped up on their website. But the contract never got done.

Mac Danzig today revealed his next booking, a UFC 145 matchup with Efrain Escudero.
“Just signed to fight in March,” Danzig posted on Twitter. “Opponent is
tough as hell, but they all are. Efrain Escudero, March 24, Montreal.”
UFC 145 takes place March 24 at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
UFC executives have yet to announce the Danzig vs. Escudero matchup,
which would likely take place on the evening’s preliminary card.

Next month’s Legacy Fighting Championships 10 lineup has undergone a few changes.
Chief among them? UFC vet Gerald Harris, who’s fresh off a pair of Tachi Palace Fights and DREAM victories, has joined the Feb. 24 lineup.
Harris now fights fellow middleweight Artenas Young on the night’s HDNet-televised main card, Legacy officials confirmed with MMAjunkie.com.
