A bantamweight bout between recent title challenger Joseph Benavidez and fellow contender Wagnney Fabiano is now official for next month’s WEC 52 card.
Fabinao initially was slated to fight ex-champ Brian Bowles, but as MMAjunkie.com first reported, an injury (foot) forced him off the card.
As expected, Fabiano has taken his spot at the Nov. 11 show.

Joseph Benavidez has replaced an injured Brian Bowles and meets fellow bantamweight Wagnney Fabiano next month at WEC 52.
MMAjunkie.com first passed along news of Bowles’ injury and withdrawal from the card on Thursday, and Sherdog.com subsequently confirmed Benavidez as a likely replacement.
MMAjunkie.com has confirmed the switch with sources close to the event, who said the fight is likely to remain on the night’s Versus-televised main card.

A bantamweight contest between former champion Brian Bowles and Nova Uniao submission ace Wagnney Fabiano
has been targeted for WEC 52.
MMAjunkie.com has confirmed with sources close to
the event that verbal agreements are in place for the contest and bout
agreements are expected to be finalized shortly. News of the matchup was first reported by SportsNet.ca.
While the event has yet to be officially announced, MMAjunkie.com has
learned that WEC 52 is expected to take place Nov. 11 at The Pearl at
the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

The two met at a Brazilian jiu-jitsu school circa 2000 in Montreal, a few years before GSP turned pro.
