BIRMINGHAM, England – U.K. fans long have complained of fight cards light on significance. To date, just three belts have been put on the line in nine events held in the country.
On the eve of No. 10, otherwise known as UFC 138, it’s only natural to wonder: Will another title fight ever make it to the U.K.?
“You’ve got to figure out – it’s all an opportunity cost in some sense,” UFC managing director of international development Marshall Zelaznik told MMAjunkie.com.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The fact that Reed Harris was hosting UFC on Versus 6′s pre-event press conference instead of Dana White is all the proof you need that the UFC could simultaneously host a show in Japan and Las Vegas.
Harris, the UFC’s director of community relations and the former head of the WEC, told MMAjunkie.com that the company’s multi-team approach to hosting events makes it possible.
His comments came a few days after a report in which White said the UFC is planning to host simultaneous events both in Japan and in Las Vegas.

In recent years, many MMA fans and pundits alike have wondered aloud if
the sport has somehow reached a plateau in terms of popularity.
UFC president Dana White has always laughed and that notion, insisting
the sport’s growth is just beginning. Now, he’s got a powerful ally with
the same belief: FOX Sports Media Group chairman David Hill.
“You look at where Frank and Lorenzo (Fertitta) and Dana have taken this
sport, and it’s literally that small of a group,” Hill said. “That’s the braintrust that have made it work for the
past decade. Imagine what’s going to happen in the next decade. I really
think the growth potential of this is explosive.”

As a former Strikeforce champion, Marloes Coenen is understandably upset
at the promotion for cutting her following a title-bout loss to Miesha
Tate at this past month’s “Strikeforce and M-1 Global: Fedor vs.
Henderson” event.
But as a Strikeforce executive, former WEC boss Reed Harris doesn’t
understand why she’s not being exactly truthful about the circumstances
surrounding her release.
“When I read [what Coenen told MMAjunkie.com], I thought, ‘Wow, there’s
some motive behind this because to take that situation and turn it
around is just not right,’” Harris told MMAjunkie.com Radio.
