After four consecutive wins in the octagon, UFC lightweight Nik Lentz has hit the skids.
But he also believes he’s turned a corner in delivering the kind of performances fans want to see, and despite dropping back-to-back fights, he’ll live to fight another day in the UFC.
“(UFC matchmaker) Joe Silva said I wouldn’t get cut,” he today told MMAjunkie.com following a weekend loss to Evan Dunham at UFC on FOX 2.

CHICAGO – Here’s a statistic for you, courtesy of Michael Bisping: Seven out of
his eight most recent opponents went to the hospital after fighting him.
“That’s a 100 percent (true) statistic – ask the UFC,” Bisping said Wednesday. “Fingers crossed, on Saturday night, it’s
going to be the exact same thing.”
The British middleweight admits that won’t be easy. He’s likely to spend
15 minutes defending takedowns and getting off his back when he meets
Chael Sonnen on Saturday at UFC on FOX 2.

George Roop calls it like he sees it, and when people say he shouldn’t ever go to the judges, he disagrees.
“I don’t think that’s fair, man,” he told MMAjunkie.com Radio. “That’s what judges are there for. Especially
at this level in the UFC, it’s tough to finish guys.
“You’re fighting the most elite guys in the world, and I really feel
that you should be able to leave it in the judges’ hands sometimes.”

After three amateur fights – themselves an accomplishment because of the
winding road he took to reach his dream of mixed-martial-arts training -
Jonathan Harris nearly had to quit the sport.
It was about three years ago. He could barely, if at all, afford the gym
dues needed to continue his work. He was bouncing from buddy’s couch to
buddy’s couch.
“Basically,” Harris told MMAjunkie.com, “I was homeless.”

LAS VEGAS – For Strikeforce champions, it’s becoming an increasingly common practice: Win a fight, call out the UFC roster.
And so it was for Strikeforce middleweight champ Luke Rockhold, who moments after scoring a first-round TKO over Keith
Jardine at Saturday’s “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine” event
challenged the UFC’s best fighters to a showdown.
But with the adrenaline worn off and Rockhold under scrutiny from the
media at the evening’s post-event press conference, the champ admitted
there are still a few worthy challenges in his current promotion.

It’s been a bit of a seesaw for American Kickboxing Academy.
This past September, the team went 4-0 at “Strikeforce Grand Prix: Barnett vs. Kharitonov,” and middleweight Luke Rockhold unseated the promotion’s middleweight champion, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
The year 2011 did not come to a successful conclusion, though. But Rockhold believes 2012 will be the year the California gym quickly gets back on track.

But before we all get ahead of ourselves, tap the breaks on the title talk, Gustafsson said.

only their “show” money but also with their win bonuses, as well.

LAS VEGAS – After Wednesday’s pre-fight press conference dust-up with Nate Diaz, UFC lightweight contender Donald Cerrone probably isn’t thinking about much else other than their pending UFC 141 confrontation.
And according to UFC president Dana White, he certainly better not be thinking about riding a bull anytime soon.
“Hell no,” White flatly said when asked if Cerrone might be granted his wish of riding on the Professional Bull Riders tour. “Hell no.”
