NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Melvin Guillard is stuck in a two-fight skid, but the two losses couldn’t be more different in his eyes.
After putting together an 8-1 run, Guillard was knocking on the door of a UFC title shot before a heart-breaking, gut-wrenching 47-second defeat to Joe Lauzon in October.
Guillard’s latest loss, though – which came to Jim Miller in Friday’s UFC on FX 1 headliner – is a bit easier to swallow.

SAN JOSE, Calif. – With a beer in one hand and jellyfish creeping up on
each side of him, UFC lightweight Danny Castillo tried to pretend he was
happy.
But it wasn’t the potential strike of the jellyfish that weighed heavy
on his mind and threatened to ruin his recent vacation to Florida and
Mexico. No, it was a completely different kind of sting that was bugging

SEATTLE – In the hyper-competitive world of the UFC, two-straight defeats almost always leads to a release from the promotion.
Three-straight defeats? Don’t call us, we’ll call you.
At Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night 24 event in Seattle, British slugger
Dan Hardy dropped his third-consecutive fight when he was toppled by
fellow striking specialist Anthony Johnson. However, UFC president Dana
White said “The Outlaw” won’t necessarily be flying home with a pink
slip.
