It appears the UFC’s famed gladiator is no more.
The UFC will debut a new 60-second opening for its pay-per-view events at this weekend’s “UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit” show in Las Vegas. It’ll replace the one that’s been in use for nearly a decade.
The segment, which was produced by the digital-production company Digital Domain (and sister company Mothership), features highlights from 18 of the UFC’s most iconic fights.

Johnson notched an impressive first-round finish of the durable Joey
Beltran.
The bout served as the evening’s first of six UFC on FOX 2 preliminary
card contests to air on FUEL TV and took place at Chicago’s United

RIO DE JANEIRO – With 10 years worth of MMA experience under his belt,
it would be understandable if Brazilian welterweight Carlo Prater was a
little bitter it took him 40 fights make it to the UFC.
Perhaps surprisingly, he’s not.
“I think this is the right time,” Prater told MMAjunkie.com. “I’m not going to lie. I’ve said before that I
should have been in there, but I don’t think so now that I’m more

The 11-bout lineup for the UFC’s debut on FX is now official.
The participants in this month’s “UFC on FX 1: Guillard vs. Miller” event have been set for a few weeks, but the official bout order for the evening was recently revealed by the promotion.
UFC on FX 1 takes place Jan. 20 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The night’s main event features Melvin Guillard against Jim Miller in a key lightweight contest.

The future of the Strikeforce 145-pound women’s division changed drastically this past week with news that champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos had tested positive for a steroid metabolite.
The Brazilian knockout artist is expected to be stripped of her Strikeforce title, and her division may be phased out of the promotion entirely.

1,000 viewers for 1 a.m. ET/PT replay that followed the 10 p.m. ET/PT
debut.
