On Saturday night, “do Bronx” hopes to reinvent himself at 145 pounds as
he takes on octagon newcomer Eric Wisely.
It’s an important moment for the Guaruja, Brazil native. With two
“Submission of the Night” bonuses in his first two fights, the UFC has
already provided Oliveira and his family a better life, and he’s not
ready to give up his spot in the promotion just yet.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – UFC lightweight Melvin Guillard was not just beaten by Joe Lauzon, he was humbled.
Admittedly overconfident and unfocused for the UFC 136 clash, Guillard
was wobbled early in the fight and then submitted in just 47 seconds.
Now, as Guillard preps for a Friday night clash with Jim Miller in the main event of UFC on FX 1, he readily accepts his
role in that loss. He also insists he’ll never make the same mistake
again.

The 11-bout lineup for the UFC’s debut on FX is now official.
The participants in this month’s “UFC on FX 1: Guillard vs. Miller” event have been set for a few weeks, but the official bout order for the evening was recently revealed by the promotion.
UFC on FX 1 takes place Jan. 20 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The night’s main event features Melvin Guillard against Jim Miller in a key lightweight contest.

RIO DE JANEIRO – The finalized lineup for the UFC’s first Brazilian event of 2012 is complete, and Facebook is once again a part of the broadcast plan.
MMAjunkie.com today confirmed with UFC officials that in addition to the previously announced pay-per-view and FX portions of Saturday’s UFC 142 broadcasts, Facebook also will stream the night’s first fight between Felipe Arantes and Antonio Carvalho.
UFC 142 event takes place at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro.

UFC officials today announced a search is underway for a replacement for Stone, who was slated to fight bantamweight Mike Easton.
