Although doctors denied his request, Mark Munoz wanted to carry around the bone fragments removed from his elbow like chips in a casino. There were 24 in all.
That’s where MMAjunkie.com Radio found him and got an update on his return following an injury and subsequent surgery that scratched him from the recent UFC on FOX 2 card.
Munoz’s doctor says he’ll be able to return to the cage in late June or July, but he’s planning on coming back before that.

The UFC isn’t ditching its live streams of preliminary-card fights just yet.
FUEL TV officials today confirmed with MMAjunkie.com that next month’s UFC on FUEL TV 1 event will include some fights that stream for free on Facebook prior to the televised main card.
However, most bouts from the Feb. 15 card will air live as part of the cable channel’s three-hour broadcast.

TORONTO – UFC president Dana White is 100 percent positive that
middleweight champion Anderson Silva is not faking an injury to avoid a
rematch with Chael Sonnen.
The reason? It’s simply impossible to do.
“First of all, just to clear this up, and these guys – Dan Henderson
knows it, Chael knows it, and every other fighter that fights in the UFC
knows it – you can’t fake an injury,” White today told MMAjunkie.com. “It’s impossible to do. You can’t do it. . That’s
just those guys yapping.”

Scott Coker doesn’t believe Ken Hershman’s exit from Showtime spells the
end for Strikeforce’s relationship with the premium cable channel.
The Strikeforce CEO today spoke with Showtime executives following news
of Hershman’s departure from the network, reportedly for a job at HBO,
and said the network wants to remain in the MMA business.
“There are negotiations going on to extend the deal, and I believe both
sides want to make a deal,” Coker told MMAjunkie.com. “Both sides have indicated to me that they’d like
to stay in this relationship.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – MMA fans should get ready for a double dose of the UFC in February.
As expected, the UFC will, in fact, hold shows in Japan and Las Vegas on the same day in February.
So how would it work logistically, specifically with TV viewers in mind? It won’t be an issue, according to UFC president Dana White, who said viewers can expect an event doubleheader.

Despite fulfilling the terms of his contract, Dan Henderson’s future appears secure in Zuffa.
But whether that’s in his most recent home, Strikeforce, or his previous one, the UFC, is the real question.
But if it’s up to Henderson, the reigning Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion would like to fight in both promotions. However, money likely will play a major factor.
