LAS VEGAS – On Saturday night in Las Vegas, Roy Nelson did what Roy
Nelson does best: Walk forward, opponent be damned, and wing right
hands.
And while his gutsy performance earned “Big Country” one-half of UFC
143′s “Fight of the Night” bonus, the loss leaves Nelson at just 1-3 in
his past four fights.
So despite earning one of the loudest welcomes of the night from the
Mandalay Bay Events Center Crowd, is Nelson’s spot in the UFC’s
heavyweight division secure?

LAS VEGAS – UFC president Dana White understands why Nick Diaz is upset, even if he doesn’t agree with the fighter’s belief that he won Saturday’s UFC 143 main event.
He also understands if Diaz goes through with an announced retirement, even if he thinks it’d be financially foolish to do so.
Quite simply, White has given up on trying to predict the 28-year-old’s often-erratic behavior.

LAS VEGAS – The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s own media notes on
Brazilian bantamweight Renan Barao sum it up nicely:
“Has best record, on paper, in all of MMA.”
On Saturday night, Barao earned his 28th-straight win by downing onetime
title-challenger Scott Jorgensen via unanimous decision.
The 24-year-old is now 5-0 under the Zuffa banner, and while UFC
president Dana White isn’t ready to grant him a title shot just yet, he
admits the Nova Uniao product is quickly becoming one of Brazil’s most
popular fighters.

LAS VEGAS – UFC president Dana White doesn’t anticipate having to find a new heavyweight contender a week after the current one was charged with misdemeanor battery.
White said today that it’s his understanding that the charge arose when Alistair Overeem was confronted outside the restroom of a popular Las Vegas club.
“I don’t think he’s in that much trouble,” White said. “This isn’t a situation where he beat somebody up; I don’t think that’s the case.”

UFC president Dana White was looking to offer an apology but nearly found himself in unpleasant situation.
“I get my gun before answering the door,” Julie Breeler told Las Vegas’
FOX 5. “I crack the door and say, ‘Yes?’ He says, ‘Julie Breeler?’ and
I’m like, ‘Yes.’ He says, ‘Hi, I’m Dana White.’”
White visited Breeler’s home to offer a personal apology for hundreds of
harassing phone calls she received after her information was mistakenly
released by hackers who were trying to attack White.

He hated the report, knew he would hate it, and told the world he hated it as soon as ESPN hit “publish.”
But UFC president Dana White said he’s communicating again with the
sports news giant since a report on fighter pay got everyone talking.
White didn’t characterize the nature of the talks but said, “we’re working on this relationship.”

Earlier today, UFC president Dana White issued an open challenge to
Internet hackers, and it didn’t take long for that community to respond.
A Twitter user claiming to be a member of the same Internet group that
over the weekend attacked UFC.com, UGNazi.com, posted a link to a file
listing the apparent phone number, social security number and current
and past addresses of the UFC boss.
“We don’t want your site anymore,” the user stated via Twitter. “We are
going after YOU! Follow me for tonight’s exciting events.”

CHICAGO – UFC president Dana White is proud of the Zuffa’s recently implemented policy that requires all new signees to pass a drug test, and he thinks it’ll help their health in the long run.
Today, though, he said expansion of the program to test already-contracted UFC and Strikeforce fighters, as well as to perform year-round and random testing, is unlikely.
“That’s the commission’s (responsibility),” White told MMAjunkie.com. “We’re the most regulated sport on Earth. We’re the last guys on Earth who should be getting [expletive] steroid questions.”

Does your local cable provider not offer FUEL TV in HD?
Switch to DirecTV, says UFC president Dana White.
“The bottom line is DirecTV has FUEL TV, and it’s in HD,” White told
MMAjunkie.com. “If you are a hardcore UFC fan, and
you are in either Time Warner or Comcast – and you want it now and you
want it in HD – you have to switch to DirecTV.”

RIO DE JANEIRO – With his 14th-straight victory in the featherweight
division, UFC champ Jose Aldo is beginning to run
out of possible opponents at 145 pounds.
Sure, there’s a few names making their way up the ranks right now, but
is it time for Aldo to make the move up to lightweight in search of
greater challenges?
UFC president Dana White said he’s just fine with Aldo staying put at
featherweight, but he certainly won’t stand in the way if the champ
decides to move up in weight.
