It appears that it hasn’t taken former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar to find a new job. Rumors constantly swirled around Lesnar about a return to his professional wrestling gig with WWE even while he was actively competing in the UFC. The rumors increased following his retirement after losing to Alistair Overeem at the promotion’s 2011 year-end event, UFC 141 . M-1 Global has staked claim to Bellator middleweight Vyacheslav
Vasilevsky in a Dutch court and plans to pursue the fighter in the U.S.
A judgment won this past Thursday awards damages to the Russia-based
promotion that amount to several hundred thousand Euros and bars him
from fighting in Bellator or any other organization. Neither Vasilevsky
or his representatives were present in court.
“We’re disappointed that we had to take this step,” M-1 Global Director
of Operations Evgeni Kogan told MMAjunkie.com.

Antonio Silva has been sidelined since his
surprising September loss to Daniel Cormier in the semifinals of
Strikeforce’s heavyweight grand prix.
A lot has happened since then, including a surgical procedure, a change in training camps and a brand new UFC contract.
It’s all for the best, Silva said. Things happen for a reason, and Silva believes his time is now in the octagon.

TOKYO – Quite simply, Jake Shields did not enjoy his 2011.
The former Strikeforce champ made his way to the UFC, but he ultimately
fell short against UFC titleholder Georges St-Pierre. It went from bad
to worse when his father and mentor, Jack, passed away just weeks before
Shields suffered a knockout loss to Jake Ellenberger.
No regrets, says Shields. This weekend’s UFC 144 event provides him an
opportunity to move on, and he’s primed to seize the moment.

All eight fighters who underwent drug testing at this past month’s UFC 142 event tested clean for performance-enhancing drugs and recreational/drugs of abuse.
UFC Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner, who coordinated the testing, confirmed the drug-testing results with MMAjunkie.com.
UFC 142 took place Jan. 14 at HSBC Arena in Rio de
Janeiro. The main card aired on pay-per-view, and prelims were on FX and Facebook.
