Bellator’s sixth season has been pushed back a week, and the March 9 event in Hammond, Ind., will serve as the season-opening Bellator 60 show.
MMAjunkie.com today confirmed the plans with event sources.
Tickets for the show, which features featherweight champ Joe Warren vs. Pat Curran and the opening round of an eight-man featherweight tournament, go on sale today at 11 a.m. ET.

Lightweights Jim Miller and Melvin Guillard were part of a small group with extended periods of
success this past year and under consideration for a title shot. But
there was logjam at the top of the division that kept them from rising.
Now, that logjam is cleared. Frankie Edgar defended his belt at UFC 136.
Unfortunately, both Miller and Guillard failed to clear a final hurdle
that likely would have put them in contention.

Kenny Florian, who’s competed in four different weight classes during a successful seven-year UFC run, is reportedly considering retirement.
A back injury may cut short the 35-year-old’s fighting career.
Florian told the “Boston Herald” a lumbar herniated disc in his lower back hasn’t improved since November, when he suffered the injury while lifting weights.

All 21 fighters who underwent drug testing at this past month’s UFC 141 event tested clean for performance-enhancing drugs and recreational/drugs of abuse.
Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer today e-mailed the drug-testing results to MMAjunkie.com.
UFC 141 took place Dec. 30 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with an Alistair Overeem vs. Brock Lesnar pay-per-view headliner.

LAS VEGAS – There are those who insist Dana White has it in for Jon Fitch, and those who think that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Fitch, after all, is one of the most polarizing fighters in the
welterweight division – despite being one of the most successful.
But if Fitch beats Johny Hendricks at UFC 141, the UFC president said the onetime title challenger
is closer than you might think to his ultimate goal of getting another
shot at current champ Georges St-Pierre.

Jorge Masvidal entered his recent Strikeforce title fight with an injured right hand, and he quickly made it worse in the first round of an eventual five-round decision defeat to champ Gilbert Melendez.
But Masvidal said he never considered pulling out of the fight, especially given its stakes.
Still, despite the injury, Masvidal wants to take nothing away from the champ, and he hopes he soon gets another shot at a fighter he considers one of the world’s best.
