Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Training camp, Phuket, Thailand hosted their annual Nevertap Asia Submission grappling tournament on March 27th, 2010 in Phuket Thailand. UFC and PRIDE FC superstar Phil “NYBA” Baroni was the master of ceremonies for the Nevertap event, which was sponsored by Six Deuce clothing. Nevertap is a unique grappling tournament consisting of 3 rounds of 3 minutes. Matches are not scored like a traditional “BJJ” tournament, rather they are judged on three major categories; Effective Aggressiveness, Takedown and Defense, and Ground Control. Team MMA Phuket gets ready for Never Tap Asia 2 Tournament with the help of head BJJ intructor Ray Elbe at Tiger Muay Thai & MMA Training Camp, Phuket, Thailand. Registrer for Nevertap Asia now! Last Day for registration to compete at the Nevertap Asia grappling tournament is Friday March 26th at 7:30 PM. Registration closes at 7:30 PM. You can register online or in person at the official day before weigh ins held at the Tiger Muay Thai Grill between 6:30-7:30 PM on the 26th of March. March 27th will be the Nevertap Asia Tournament Second weigh ins will begin Saturday 27th March at 10am and are closed at 11am. You must make weight by 11am. *NOTE: Competitors only need to make the competition weight once. We are holding two weigh ins for individuals interested in cutting weight to compete* Rules meeting starts at 11:30, and matches will begin shortly after a brief warm up period. The first round of the Nevertap tournament is double elimination. This means you are guaranteed a minimum of two matches. If you lose your first match you will be bumped into a losers bracket. The winner of the losers bracket will face the winner of the original bracket in the finals for each weight division. After your first match if you lose you are eliminated from the tournament. As an added free service to the competitors of Nevertap Asia, D-Bauchery Films will be on site to record all the matches and photograph the event.
